Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch in early November. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio OlĂmpic LluĂs Companys.
