Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Ceremony
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and with a remarkable show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. The surprise role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the prestigious Top Game award, along with honors for Superb Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the studio's achievements, the talented performers also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his role as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team won 7 awards throughout the ceremony.
Additional notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only 4 awards—Critics Choice, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamer Selection—judged by reviewers.
