Hulu is Developing a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent Far Cry title that players experienced was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for embracing action and mayhem with similar enthusiasm, all while weaving gripping, socially charged stories. Little surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry anthology series pulled in two creators whose work have exemplified all of those things.

Show Details

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also mirror the video games' format by having a fresh location and cast of characters in each season.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as showrunners on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and extremely entertaining. We also want to thank our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Getting to work together with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX team constantly supports me with their constant confidence and support.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology-style show. Each game is a interpretation of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” said Hawley. “To create a epic action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always examining the essence of people through this intricate and turbulent viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and introduce our common irreverent, daring approach to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
