I'll stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two time world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As both boxers met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
