Indianapolis Colts Take On Atlanta Falcons in German Capital – Week 10 NFL Action

Hello, fussball fans. Wie gehts? Everything good I trust on this excellent morning kickoff to week 10 coming directly from Deutschland. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be precise where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the powerful Indianapolis Colts (7-2) face off against the Falcons (three wins and five losses). This marks the fifth matchup played on soil in Germany and the first in the nation’s capital.

Pregame Highlights

As sparkly jackets go that is an real standout from Katarina Witt on the opening flip. A minor slip from the broadcast team there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the commentator with an accidentally live microphone.

Well, the coin toss went to Indianapolis and have elected to receive. Daniel Jones and company will be setting up shortly. Will the QB bounce back after a rough one in their last game?

In a similar vein the vocalist performing the US national anthem has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. We are almost underway after a choir performance for the national anthem of Germany. Classy.

First Quarter Action

Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter

Here we go! And we have an exciting start after Jonathan Taylor receives a short throw, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right side then fumbles … only for his offensive lineman to save his bacon with the recovery. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter

And the drama keeps coming as the Colts go for it on 4th down. The risk doesn't work out as the wide receiver fails to catch a quick pass from the quarterback. On the play before the turnover on downs Jessie Bates put a massive tackle on the Colts' tight end. Atlanta's defense started strong as they attempt to end their string of three losses. Following that, Sauce Gardner makes his first appearance!

Score Updates

First score: Colts lead 6-0 at 8:36

Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The tight end drops a clanger, he was wide open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That play rather sums up the first round pick’s career to date.

A disappointing start but it only deteriorates for the Falcons as they turn over possession to the Colts on the 23-yard line. Michael Penix Jr is hunted down and can’t keep hold of the ball.

An agile 22-yard rush from Ashton Dulin sets Jonathan Taylor up to easily run for a touchdown on the following play. Kicker Michael Badgley misses the point after attempt. Oops.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter

Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by marching his Falcons down the field for a score of their own. The wide receiver makes some substantial catches to put them in the scoring area then the seas part for the running back to saunter on to the goal line through the heart of the field for a 13-yard gain. He completes the drive for a one-yard touchdown of his own. Advantage Atlanta.

Additional Week 10 Games

Additionally, the jumbo package starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (with home teams first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Panthers v New Orleans Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Bears v New York Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Dolphins v Buffalo Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Minnesota Vikings v Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) New York Jets v Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Patriots (7-2)

What a feast. My pick for the best game is the Vikings and Ravens playing out the game of the day.
