The First Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the death bells for the Xbox brand. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a platform few have heard of. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content regarding Sony's platform for the first time. Last year proved to be complete chaos for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Xbox remains determined to attract subscribers with quality releases on its key platform.

The Available Now Titles

The two games you can play right now as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's deserving of attention.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

Starting January 13th, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "the perfect cocktail of frights and fights."

Noteworthy Smaller Games

But even the smaller games set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that is incredibly fun, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year may draw you in within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.

A Robust Selection of Games

In summary, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they are also not tentpole Microsoft studios games that are the sole reason for the service by themselves. Yet, this selection are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that lacked the recognition they were due initially — transforming them into ideal prospects to get a second chance on Game Pass.

You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
