This young athlete has considerable social media audience
The young golfer will have plenty of prominent cheerleaders as she begins her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to compete at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
The former president, a passionate golfer, operates several golf courses and regularly plays against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we have tight competitions," she revealed.
The golfer shared that Trump, who won't be present, told her: "Simply stay calm."
"My grandpa basically suggested to play and enjoy myself," she added.
"In my eyes, he's just a regular grandfather. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has competed in only three events in 2024 and has the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
However she's able to receive tips from 15-time major champion, who is dating her mother.
"He represents the best player worldwide," Kai expressed.
"Additionally, he's a superior individual. He suggested me to go out there, enjoy myself, following whatever happens."
Kai will face several top competitors in the sport at this tournament, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that Kai's presence helps introduce the sport to different demographics, specifically among youth audiences.
The young star boasts a massive following and has started her own fashion and living brand.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
