Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the sports world had expressed condolences for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
